This video is a dedication to one of the longest running RPG franchises that set many standards and raised many bars: Final Fantasy. I’ve been a devoted fan since day one, even priding myself on five dedicated years serving San d’Oria in FFXI. So making this video made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

This video began as any other AMV I’ve created, in this case one for Final Fantasy XIII/vs. XIII. However, as I was working on it, I wanted to capture the very spirit of the series and showcase its evolution from primitive standings into grand-scale epic. So, with the help of GameTrailer.com’s “The Final Fantasy Retrospective”, I created two videos in one: a montage of the original twelve chapters to this series, followed by an AMV for the thirteenth installment(s).

The songs I used are not only two of the greatest pieces of composed work by musical magician Nobuo Uematsu, but are in my mind two of the greatest songs to come out of the entire series. The first half is set to “The Promised Land” from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, while the second is set to “Liberi Fatali”- the opening intro theme from Final Fantasy VIII and one of my eternal favorite works.
