I swear, this music is so soothing.
Almost tempted to go back and redub over it with a badly imitated British accent and talk about the Carbuncle in its native habitat.

This was an interesting challenge. Carbuncle has evolved a bit since its appearance in the Final Fantasy games. I had originally wanted it to look like its latest incarnation in FFXI, but that was turning out to be rather difficult to pull off with the color, shine, and overall shape. Instead, I took that base idea and added some adjustments based off the older versions - to include head shape and fur color. This is the result.

I’m really pleased with how this one came out, and the kits (Would baby Carbuncles be kits?) look adorable as well. Of course, I spent a decent bit of time just on the mouth, nose, and the placement of the ears in order to get them looking - and sounding in the case of the mouth - just right.

So, enjoy the fruit of my toils - The Samaelian Carbuncle.

This by far has to be my best recording to date and is my favorite song from Final Fantasy XI. To those of you who are familiar with it, I am sorry I had to take the octave down on the high parts because my ocarina does not go that high. This song was requested by my girlfriend Michelle.
